Interior doorway representing a vulnerable access point for The Shield product-fit discussion.

The Shield

The Shield is a patent-pending protective barrier system being developed by Fortivus Protective Systems for selected vulnerable interior access points.

The Shield is currently moving from working prototype toward commercial V1 readiness through engineering review, CAD/design-for-manufacturing, material sourcing, fabrication planning, installation considerations, and controlled deployment preparation.

Many organizations have invested in cameras, access control, emergency plans, lockdown procedures, and response protocols. Those tools can be important, but leaders may still have concerns about selected interior spaces and access points once a threat is already inside a facility.

The Shield is being developed to support that missing physical layer: a purpose-built protective barrier concept for selected vulnerable interior access points, evaluated case by case within a broader safety plan.

For school, church, and facility leaders, the question is not whether existing safety tools matter. The question is whether selected interior spaces still have a physical gap that deserves a closer look.

Development Status

The Shield is currently in prototype-to-commercial V1 development. Fortivus is working through engineering review, CAD/design-for-manufacturing, material sourcing, fabrication planning, installation considerations, and controlled deployment readiness before broad customer availability.
Fortivus is not offering The Shield as a direct online purchase. Qualified discussions are intended to determine whether the product may be appropriate for selected vulnerable interior access points after technical, legal, insurance, and operational readiness steps are completed.

Early conversations help Fortivus evaluate real facility concerns, product-fit conditions, and responsible pilot opportunities before broader availability.

Intended Use

The Shield is intended to support layered protective infrastructure planning for selected vulnerable interior access points.

It is not a substitute for emergency planning, trained personnel, law enforcement response, fire/egress review, code compliance, or facility-specific safety procedures.

Fortivus evaluates product-fit discussions on a case-by-case basis because facility layout, wall type, installation conditions, operational needs, and readiness requirements may vary by location.

Readiness Path

Before broader customer availability, Fortivus is working through engineering review, CAD/design-for-manufacturing, material sourcing, fabrication planning, installation considerations, quality control, insurance review, legal review, and controlled deployment preparation.

The goal is a responsible commercial V1 path before broader customer availability.

Request a Product-Fit Discussion
